Successful Education

An educational agency connects
students, parents, and colleges.

The Challenge

The company need a new design of the website to improve the user journey and conversion rate.

My role

Served as the UI researcher and designer.

The Approach

1. Understand the Company Needs & Target Audience

We thoroughly reviewed the company’s website and analyzed competitor sites to identify the key elements the industry typically highlights for its audience.

The 3Cs I summarized for UI design

2. CONDUCT In-depth Interviews

We recruited 5 participants - 3 students and 2 parents - to understand their reasons when choosing their educational agency and the information they prefer to see on the website.

Participants were also asked to express their views regarding the original website of Successful Education.

Key Insights:

  • Lack of Visual Appeal

  • Difficult to Read (background and text color)

  • Misleading Titles

  • Shortage of Information

    • Broken Links

3. CONSTRUCT User Personas + Context Scenarios

We constructed two separate personas based on the students and parents we interviewed. The design requirements for the student and parent persona are listed under the context we developed in order to better support future UI improvement.

4. CREATE Prototype

We began by sketching initial design concepts on paper and PowerPoint to solidify our ideas. Next, we created a mid-fidelity prototype on WordPress.

Some key actions included: developing a new color scheme matched with the company’s logo, introducing the company at the top of the homepage, and providing a detailed outline of the services and team structure.

5. CONDUCT Usability Tests.

Back to the first C- Conduct tests with participants. We ran 2 usability tests by asking the participants to accomplish two major tasks.

  1. Figure out if the company offers services they need

  2. Learn about the counselors of Successful Education.
